HEAP LEACH PADS
Heap leaching is an industrial mining process to extract precious metals, copper, uranium, and other compounds from ore via a series of chemical reactions that absorb specific minerals and then re-separates them after their division from other earth materials. The extraction of precious metals from ore using heap leaching is a common method of production. The ore is placed on geomembrane-lined pads and the ore-laden solution is drained through lined ditches into impoundments for holding prior to extraction.
Our geomembranes like XR-5® is commonly used in these areas due to its excellent resistance to sunlight, high puncture resistance and thermal swings. Prefabrication makes installation simple and minimizes CQA requirements and installation time.
