FLOATING COVERS

 

Floating covers manufactured from geomembranes are a popular solution to odor containment and are an integral component of low rate anaerobic digestion systems. DGS Fabrics offers many features unmatched for this application. We have several material options that has superior seam strength under elevated temperature, constant loading, essential to personnel that must walk on the floating covers. For example our XR-5 geomembrane low thermal expansion-contraction properties make operation and maintenance simple. The broad range of chemical resistance and flexible nature of the membrane make it one of the ideal materials for floating cover construction. 

 

Using floating covers will result in Greater Chemical Stability  — As evaporation is prevented and environmental pollution is blocked, water will remain more chemically stable - for potable water, this means less chlorine use while greatly reducing the possible formation of trihalomethanes (or THM’s) that threaten water safety.
